Divya - Original Character Design

These are my designs for an original character named Divya!
She is feisty, full of energy and ready for an adventure. Her hair is a bit disheveled because she isn’t the kind of girl who puts a big emphasis on her appearance. I wanted her barefoot because she ain’t got time to put on shoes when she’s running out the door! She has things to see! She loves her culture and is covered in bold colors from her clothes to the henna designs on her arms and hands. Oh, and she is friends with an elephant. Cuz, why not?

This character is based on some awesome Indian women I’ve had the pleasure of knowing in my life. Her personality is based off of one of my best friends named Sammi and she was named after a friend I made during my time in The Disney College Program.
I want Divya to show pride in her culture and be a girl that everyone wants as their best friend.
Enjoy Divya! :)

* Cinderella *
The costumes in this movie were beautiful and I was dying to illustrate them in a way that felt like an old Disney Golden Book in the spirit of Retta Scott. Lily James was the perfect Cinderella.

Designs by the amazing Sandy Powell and all copyrights owned by Disney.

Judy Garland in Meet Me In St. Louis

Judy Garland in Meet Me In St. Louis. Has to be one of my favorites of hers. I did a similar portrait to this about a year ago and thought it needed a redo.

Hansel & Gretel: THE CANDY COTTAGE

I am very proud to present my Hansel & Gretel Candy Cottage. I’ve tried to add as much detail as possible, from the liquorish and cotton candy trees, to the frosting roof, waffle cone walls, gum drop garden, peppermint walkway, cake pop decoration, macaroon door frame, and the frosted pretzel window. When I was finished, I thought it would be fun to make it into a postcard with the Witch presenting her sweet house in a sinister way. I made the text and added in the Candy Witch
I hope you enjoy!

Hansel & Gretel

My Hansel and Gretel Designs are finally complete! My idea was for the kids to be dressed as normal modern kids, then when they arrive at the witch’s cottage, she dresses them in candy covered outfits. Gretel’s dress is covered in sugary lemon drops with a macaroon trimmed skirt, a sucker hair clip, and skittle covered shoes. Hansel is wearing a peppermint broach, liquorish shoelaces, and a taffy wrapper bow-tie. The Witch is wearing a Dots trimmed skirt, peppermint shoes/necklace, a sprinkle covered apron, with hair made of cotton candy.

I’m starting a visual development project based around the story of Hansel & Gretel.
First up is my Candy Witch. I’ll be making more characters, environments and props :)

Little Red Riding Hood & The Wolf

Little Red & The Wolf

I’m very excited about this piece, it was done in Corel Painter which was a struggle all it’s own. I wanted to go for something very graphic and inspired by paper art.

Into The Woods

An INTO THE WOODS illustration of Cinderella and the baker's wife. This is very much inspired by the amazing work of Lorelay Bove. I think her art is beautiful and wanted to put my own spin on it.
